The Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) system is the Federal Judiciary’s comprehensive case management system for the majority of the bankruptcy, district and appellate courts. Utilizing the Internet, PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) delivers access to filed documents, while CM/ECF allows the courts to accept filings.

The combined systems keep out-of-pocket expenses low, allow concurrent access to case files by multiple parties, and offer expanded search and reporting capabilities. The systems also provide the ability to immediately update dockets and make them available to users, file pleadings electronically with the court, and download documents and print them directly from the court system.

In this one hour webinar, veteran paralegal Pamela J. Starr, CBA, J.S.M., will review the basics of PACER and CM/ECF. Ms. Starr will demonstrate:

  • The Why & How of CM/ECF
  • How to View Court Documents Online
  • Document Retrieval
  • What You Need to E-File
  • How to E-File – A Step-by-Step Guide
  • Answer FAQs, etc.
